"Baltimore's First 2007 Murder Is Another Teen."
WJZ Channel 13 News, 1/2/07
A teenager wounded Monday evening in a shooting at a West Baltimore carryout restaurant has died, becoming the city's first of at least two murder victims so far in 2007... the Baltimore chapter's NAACP called the amount of African-American teens being killed a "crisis." Seventeen-year-old Leon Nelson died at Shock Trauma hours after the shooting at China Garden, in the 3400 block of Clifton Avenue. He and another teen, who survived, were shot in what police think was a targeted killing,,, a man walked into the restaurant about 6:30 P.M. and opened fire... "I feel sorry for these kids out there. They don't understand, 17,16,15, that's too young for them to be dying," said Nelson's father.
